Koinonia Cooperative Home School seeks to offer its students and their families:
- The opportunity to grow and learn in Christian intentional community
- An historic setting in which to learn, where the political, ethical, and theological contributions of founding members of Koinonia Farm are respected and studied
- The stories, experiences and resources of Koinonia members as partners in the learning and growing processes of our children
- Tutors experienced with natural learning environments who are committed to the mission of Koinonia
- The opportunity for parents to be actively involved in the education of their children through shared ownership of the Cooperative and its operations
Our Vision:
Koinonia considers the education of children an integral part of our shared life. We offer to Koinonia families and families from the larger surrounding community who choose to home school their children, a unique enrichment experience providing holistic, faith-based and natural learning opportunities. In addition to an outstanding academic program, we offer opportunities that allow the children to be intimately involved in the day-to-day life of Koinonia Farm and to make positive contributions to the larger community in which we live.
Our Mission:
We are God’s children, learning together in intentional community,
sharing a life of learning, service, and just being kids.
We want to grow peacefully and learn naturally,
sharing our lives with each other and our community.
We honor our community’s commitment to the way of Jesus
as an alternative to materialism, militarism, and racism.
We pledge ourselves to living and learning in a way
that respects all persons, cares for all of Creation,
and leads us always toward each other.
